A Mother's Day Display

I wanted to change up the Easter display on the porch a little for Mother's Day. So off I went to the Dollar Store. Have you ever been to the dollar store? There are so many cool things you can get there. It's fun and all for just a dollar. Look at what I picked up.
I first took off the ribbon that was originally on the hat. Then I snipped off  a couple of the flowers and burned the edges. Do this in a well ventilated area. If you want to attempt this yourself. Cause it smells really bad and does let off some fumes. I have heard that you can tea dye them as well. I will have to try this with the left over flowers. But I really wanted them to have a slightly crunchy look to them as well.
and I wanted a antique look for the flowers. I think I achieved it.
Here is the finished look.
Off to the porch we go......

Thanks for stopping by

  1. Great idea, the burnt edges really work for that antique look. I totally agree with snipping off some of those flowers...less is truly more here. Looks great!
